Marijuana use in Saskatcehwan
The increase in cannabis use, especially among young Canadians, is of concern because we know that cannabis is not a benign drug, said Michel Perron, chief executive officer of the centre .
The survey found that 45 per cent of Canadians have used marijuana at least one time in their lifetime. About 70 per cent of those aged 18 to 24 reported using marijuana.
Males were more likely than females to use marijuana, as were those who have never been married.
The study found the use of cocaine and crack cocaine also increased from 0.7 per cent in 1994 to 1.9 per cent in 2004.
